CAS/MAS Scholarships

Did you know that only a small percentage of industry professionals have obtained their CAS or MAS designation?  CAS stands for Certified Advertising Specialist and MAS stands for Master Advertising Specialist. For more information on this program (managed and administered by PPAI), please see PPAI's Website..

UMAPP prides itself on being able to offer a scholarship program to our members who wish to pursue their CAS or MAS designations.  There are up to two scholarships awarded each year,  Recipients have their choice of attending a PPAI-sponsored education program with a maximum reimbursement amount of $1,500. Staff of UMAPP members are eligible to apply.

  • Visit PPAI's website to view their education events (an example is the North American Leadership Conference).

Applicants pay for expenses and submit receipts to UMAPP for reimbursement.

Nikki Platt, of Fey Industries in Edgerton, Minnesota, was a recent scholarship winner.  She attended the Women's Leadership Conference and used the funds from the scholarship to pay for a large portion of her trip.

"I would like this opportunity to thank UMAPP for the Scholarship that I was awarded, in order to attend the 2018 Woman’s Leadership Conference, in Hollywood CA.  It was my first time going to this event and I had an amazing week.  It is definitely worth the time to be able to meet new people, network and be there for the different sessions, they were very inspiring."

Collegiate Scholarships

UMAPP awards up to four collegiate scholarships each year to deserving students as just another one of the member benefits through the Association.   Each scholarship is $1,500!  The scholarship is payable in the late summer/fall for tuition.  Available to staff of member companies, and their immediate children (no grandchildren).

Scholarship America administers the program, reviews all applications, verifies transcripts, and works with the schools to award the funds.

The 2019-2020 application will be available right here by January 15, 2019.
