The 2018 UMAPP Room Show exhibitor application is live.  
 
To exhibit at this show, suppliers must be invited via distributor online vote.   
  1. Complete the online application by Wednesday, August 30, to be on the ballot.

  2. Campaign for votes to your distributor customers (nonmembers can vote, too).  

  3. Distributors vote online between September 6 and September 15.  

  4. Nine suppliers who receive the most vote are automatically invited to exhibit; and the Room Show Committee will choose two additional exhibitors from the list, paying attention to ensuring a diversity of lines exhibited and allowing new exhibitors to attend.   

 

 

Ineligible suppliers for the 2018 show:

Because they have exhibited in either 2016 or 2017. There is a two year go-dark rule for this show to allow for more variety in lines exhibited.

How Does This Show Work?

This is a different type of show.  It is a "Room Show," meaning that distributor attendees rotate in groups from exhibitor to exhibitor for a 25-minute presentation.  There's a set schedule that we encourge our groups to adhere to, but we understand if situtations arise where it's not possible.   

This is a distributor-only show (no end buyers, please).  

Distributor show fee includes:  morning beverages and snacks, plated lunch, 11 exhibitor presentations that provide in-depth education, free show bags, free notebook/pens, samples, and the After Party - drawing for door prizes.   Not to mention the mountains of information obtained by attending these presentations.  Those that attend tell us it was the best decision they've made in a long time; those that don't attend tell us they wish they had.    


Who Should Attend this Show?  

Distributor sales reps should attend and expect to receive in-depth education from the exhibiting suppliers about their products, processes, and WHO to sell their products to, and how.   

Nonmembers may attend this show as long as they qualify.  

  • Current ASI, PPAI, or SAGE company membership number - or 

  • Specific invitation from an exhibitor as one of their valued distributor customers.  
     

End buyers are not allowed.  This is a distributor-only show.  

Is there a Fee to Attend?  

Yes, there is.  The cost is $25 for members and $35 for nonmembers.  This includes breakfast, morning beverages, 11 in-depth supplier education sessions, plated lunch, samples, and the "Prize Party" (beverages, appetizers, and drawings for prizes).

Exhibitor Information

How do you get into this show for 2018?    Complete the application to be on the ballot (link at the top of the page), campaign to distributors, and cross your fingers the distributors vote your company into the show.  

How does this show work, you ask?  

  • Suppliers interested in exhibiting complete the online Application for Ballot (see above). 
     
  • All eligible suppliers are placed on a ballot and UMAPP's distributor membership chooses the exhibitors they want to see at the show. 
     
  • The suppliers with the top votes for the 9 spaces open are invited to exhibit, and an additional 2 suppliers are chosen by the Room Show Committee.   
  • Cost:  $1,200, which includes exhibit fee, sit-down lunch, and optional after party. This cost equates out to approximately $6.00 per distributor sales rep!   
     
  • Deadline to apply for the ballot:  Wednesday, August 30.  
     
  • Distributor vote online:  September 6 - September 15.  
     
  • Winning exhibitors announced the week of September 18.    

 

What is the schedule for this show?  

  • Each exhibitor makes eleven, 25-minute presentations to groups of distributors, with a 5-minute break in between.    Each distributor group is usually between 9 - 15 people, and they rotate together through a pre-assigned schedule so every exhibitor has sales reps in their room for every presentation.  
     
  • The sit-down lunch also serves as UMAPP's annual meeting, and includes a presentation of awards.  
     
  • The After Party is held at the same location as lunch, and features appetizers and prize drawings for the distributors.

Set up / Show Schedule: 

Sunday, February 18 | Set up begins at 7:00 pm.    More details will follow, but your meeting room on the second floor (to be assigned) will be open and available for set up beginning at 7:00 pm.   

Monday, February 19  | Show Day 

Set up continues.  If you did not pick up your key card to the meeting room on Sunday, you can pick it up at any time on Monday morning (earlier than 7:30) from the hotel registration desk.

8:15  | Distributor check-in starts.  A hot buffet breakfast will be in the lobby area of the second floor, available to everyone.  

8:30 am | Required exhibitor meeting with show chair, Melinda Marr.  Meeting room will be announced.  

9:00 am | First session for the show starts.
